Sh. Atoll Maaungoodhoo Council has once again this year waived one month's waste management service fee (for the Gregorian calendar month of 1) from every inhabited household in the island for the residents during the month of Ramadan. This is a decision that the council has made consistently with previous years.
According to Maaungoodhoo Council President Adam Saleem, this decision was made to provide relief to the residents through the blessings and mercy of the month of Ramadan. The Council President also noted that this is something that will pave the way for increasing friendship and unity among the island's residents.
It is certain that many residents of the island will be pleased with the council's decision. This is believed to be something that will provide some relief to the island's residents during a time when expenses increase in the month of Ramadan.
